Not sure there’s another player at 6 with the top end that meaningful.
I am of the same mind. The potential reward is so great, it is worth the risk to draft him. But let's continue to Tweet that Tua is too injury prone to succeed in the NFL, so that he will be there at No. 6. With Tua, potentially, we have the answer to Mahomes, only better.

This is Aaron Donald territory, in a different package.
Brown has the rare trait of truly elite anchor + some inside pass rush.
Linval is gonna surprise us too...he's no statue, and he's got plenty left in the tank.
When Derrick Brown starts ragdolling All-Pro Offensive Guards,
      like Jamal did Alan Faneca,
we will KNOW LAC drafted the right dude.

Derrick Brown is who will fall to @ #6.
I agree he will fall to 6. And I think he falls even further. Too much other talent at more critical positions will be available.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

If Simmons and Tua are there - and we pick Simmons - fine
If Tua is gone and Simmons and Herbert is there and we pick Herbert - well okay
If Tua, Burrows, Chase Young and Herbert are gone and if Simmons is there and we don't pick Simmons - Telesco can get bent on the spot --

Simmons makes this defense very unique. Imagine having James and Simmons against Kelce and Mahomes. Thats what you have to try to beat.

Does Simmons make the all decade team of the 20s? Is he that good? Is he a Seau type of talent?

If you're comparing Simmons to legends, then maybe more like Polamalu. Not the every down, in the box punisher like Junior but occasional blitzer, cover all, cover everywhere ( okay maybe not quite everywhere but you get the giste) sideline to sideline eraser like Troy.

                Makes Lamar Jackson more containable.

Do the Chargers have problems to contain L. Jackson ?

Yes. Doesn’t most every team? He was NFL MVP this past season.

That's questionable. Chase Young, yes but we don't have to worry about him. Burrow, probably if his one season translates to the NFL. Tua has the talent in a very questionable frame. Simmons/Okudah are likely PB starters but it is not clear that they would be more impactful than a young Vince Wilfork. Brown is more talented, ready to dominate day 1 than any of the OTs.
I would be happy with Brown, Okudah, Simmons at 6. Tua or Herbert would make me nervous but could understand. I'm not excited about the OTs with impact D talent on the board.

Im exactly the opposite. Im not excited about the D talent with choice of potentially 4 high ceiling OTs available. Every year the same thing happens, the Bolts biggest need is OT and they pick something else.

So true - this year is our best chance in a long time to fill our need at LOT.

All the talk about Brown - did i miss something? Have we cut Justin Jones and Tillery - didn't we sign a pretty darn good DT free agent? Did everyone forget Cortez Broughton?

Think about it - is our need at DT still a big need?
