Beyond STs, hopefully Smith can fill some kind of depth role in the secondary. He was a small school prospect (NC Central) with enough promise to become a 4th rounder.

Sometimes those guys take 3-4 years to adapt to the NFL. Maybe we got him at just the right time.

He did start 10 games in 2017(2nd season) and 6 in 2018 . Probably because of injury but he has those under his belt. Hopefully you are right. Facyson has been awful but he now has another year of experience.

Every few days - Telesco signing another player. It won't continue through the draft but I can see possibly another ST signing - LB type for Vigil
and than see what the draft brings and what depth you will need at that time.

Chargers have about $12 million left according to Popper. I say keep signing these guys for $3 million or less. A lot will be below average players (still can be a solid contributor, depth, backup) but a few of them will play at a starter level.

Many of the players now on won't even be $3m - more like under $2m or the minimum.. Except if post draft he is looking at OT or maybe a DB like Nelson. Another Special Teamer would be excellent

Smith is not a horrible DB, by the way. He is little small (light) but he can play the slot and is versatile. He started quite a few games for TB

I think Fackrell probably replaces Ingram more than Perryman

Not an upgrade at TE - I mean Hunter is a good player. But the OL and Special Teams having potential upgrades could more than do more for the team than similar play from OL and Special Teams but still have a player like Henry at TE.

And Smith isnt replacing Jenkins. We still in the process of doing that, likely in the draft.
