If we could run the dam ball with *good protection it would help, but imagine if Herbert was the QB of the Seahawks with their HC.

    * Maybe if you are going to put EVERYTHING on your QB you go ahead and focus on you oline and the depth, and do everything in your power to make your Oline dominating.
Staley certainly has his faults, but ignoring who is on the field actually playing is just rationalizing one's dislike of he and Lombardi. Ask Rogers how important having competent receivers is.

If this team did not have Herbert last year and this year. I honestly think, Staley and Lombardi would have been fired already. Herbert has saved these coaches their jobs hands down.

I was all about Staley, watching his press conferences and All In. But I’m sick of hearing the same shite over and over. For them not to make a move at WR knowing Allen had a set back is highly frustrating. If you could have given up 2nd this year and a 5th next year for Claypool, in a heartbeat. 2 reasons why.

      1. Control for 1.5 years for cheap
      2. Imagine when the team gets back Williams and Allen. Three headed monster at WR with speed for 1.5 years.

Stop making all these videos with All In, Camp Out etc. until you have a winner on the field, shut up and produce the way your suppose to.

Some of the commentary here... think how many times Aaron Rogers saved his coaches job because he made average rosters look good...

If you don’t ignore who is on the field, all the coaches since Marty have excuses for their losing records.

That fact never stopped the crowd coming for past coaches with pitchforks. Why should Staley be treated any differently?

I do think Injuries have piled up to an extent that HC and his coordinators have excuses for losing but even when everyone was healthy they still couldn’t win convincingly.

The real problem with this team is the John Spanos/Tom Telesco GM role that hasn’t been able to build any depth whatsoever since Butler was GM and the Spanos family stayed the hell out of what we see on the field.

The pitchforks come out whenever fans are unhappy regardless of who the coach, GM or owner is. That doesn't mean it is rational or particularly insightful.

Depth has certainly been an issue, but if you took away Hill, Waddle, Sherfield, the backup RB, starting LT, and backup TE from Miami, what kind of year do you think Tua would be having?

Yep - him diving into the pile is an injury waiting to happen. He should just chuck everything up for grabs 5 yards behind his receivers like he frequently does and let them have to come back and make spectacular catches so everyone can ooh and ahh over his stats.

You are pretty well making the point the value of having fast, dynamic receivers that can make lots happen after they catch the ball, anywhere on the football field.

What could Justin Herbert do if he was given a weapon like those two?

Justin would actually be able to throw to them in-stride and actually make it look like a professional pass instead of a duck that got shot outa the sky. His WRs would score so fast that the kicking team would be ready to kick the XP b4 the other team even got the XP D in place. Our WRs are like a molasses drip in the dead of an Antarctic winter.

If you swapped Tua and Herbert this season Tua would be on IR and Herbert would be the runaway leader in the MVP race.
