I don't buy that they don't think of the Jags game... I think that game changed the team and destroyed whatever confidence they had in Staley.

I see it this way.
Staley is being foolish instead of smart.
The best play would have been to admit that Jville is the elephant in the room.
This would have mitigated the psychological hurdle that is clearly now staring all in the face.

The best we can hope for in terms of a previous HC would be like a Dan Quinn...who might be in line for a nice redemption arc but I shudder to think what happens when he combines his 28-3 karma with our 27-0 karma.

Yeah, not interested in the defensive coordinator version of Norv Turner. I think Quinn is best in the position he's in currently, just as Norv was calling plays for Jimmy Johnson.

What should be very sobering to Staley is his defense is so bad, no team would ever consider hiring him as their DC. He'll be like McCoy, relegated to a position coach. Maybe he can go back to the Rams and coach linebackers or something.
