With Hopkins, we're at least getting a mostly dependable vet with a lot of game experience. Not stellar numbers, but at least somewhere in the middle of the pack. Last year, dipped a bit to 79%, but was kicking 85% this year so far when the Skins cut him.

Better than missing 50% of your field goals. I'll take 8 out of 10 and especially if they're tough kicks that are missed as part of that ratio. Easy kicks should not be missed much if at all.

Staley likes Viz’s potential and hopefully he gets the mental part down. Hopkins sounds like an upgrade in theory but we’ll see. This is what one WFT fan said in another thread. He did think Hopkins was an upgrade though.

Hopkins' kickoffs go for touchbacks 74.3 percent of the time for his career. His 2020 touchback percentage for WFT was 83.3 percent, the best of his career. His career field goal made percentage is 84 percent. He is 55/68 on FGs of 40-50 yds, 14/27 on FGs 50+ yds. His career long is 56 yds, in 2018 for WFT. He was 3/4 on FGs v the Chargers in week 1. His XP rate is 94.2 percent for his career, 179/190. His XP percentage for 2021 is 83.3 percent, 10/12. The two he missed this season were in one game, v. Atlanta in week 4. He is 6-2, 205, age 31, and not related to any actors who've portrayed serial killers.

Wow. I am just reading about this now. I was hoping for a change but, based on Staley's comments, I really thought they were going to stay with Vizcaino for now. Very pleased.
