They regressed if we consider the two Raider games.
A good target for limiting scoring is 21 or less. Top Ds allow an avg 17 pts or less.

    1 WFT 16
    2 Dal 20
    3 KC 24
    4 LV 14

    14 NYG 22

Our D was inconsistent but the 1st 4 wks were the best stretch.

I heard a bit of Telescos presser going on today - he said this year they will focus on the entire team. Last year for sure they focused on OLine. And I get that.

But its pretty easy to see where the team needs help - we all see it : RT, IDL, CB, Edge, RB, and P too
My draft list is almost identical to this. EDGE, DT, CB, RT, P, RB

Pipkens highly efficient game grades at LT and RT late in the season really flipped my thinking on RT. What a pleasant development.

Chris Harris finished this season on a flat note, all things being the same, Chargers should have let Chris go and resigned Casey Heyward. But, the draft will let us rectify that in the 1st or 3rd Round.

Hopefully good process leads to better results.

That is Telesco in a nutshell

he had a decision to pick in releasing a veteran CB with similar cap savings and he picked the player who had arguably, a worse season.

It was financials unfortunately. Harris would cost us to release while we saved a ton of cap space by releasing Casey.

It was a salary cap issue. Also Heyward was declining with us.

I just posted a piece about Telesco's job security published today by Pro Football Talk in the Telesco thread.

Boy I will tell you one thing and you can credit this to Telasco or not or to Staley or not. I just saw that the Chiefs Willie Gay got arrested last night. The Raiders have had 2 or 3 high profile F Up's this year alone. At least the Chargers (knock on wood) have not had to deal with crap like this. DUI's, domestic violence and the like.........no thanks!

I've ranted enough about this shit culture in KC
I doubt anyone is even remotely surprised
                        Just Thursday in KC
                        G-Ro knows.

Cap dollars were pretty close - per my spreadsheet

I think Hayward was 8.5m and Harris would have been 6.5m if released by the third day of the league year
It wasn't a big difference cap wise - not that 2m isn't something

Its just more - -like you said, they thought Casey was declining and Harris had played in a Staley system.
