But alongside Justin Jones, presuming he is back - Telesco needs to go spend some damn cash and get a player in their friggin prime to pair with Justin Jones. Plus add a draft pick.

So in my team building: Jones (or a like priced player in Free agency); another player in free agency; a draft pick and than maybe a guy like Hicks. Thats a lot of investment in DLine but thats where it needs to start
There are not D-linemen in their prime hitting free agency. There is the possibility of DBs in their prime hitting free agency. I wouldn’t be opposed to a big time deal for a stud CB in his 20s. Then fix the front seven with vets and through the draft.

Yup! A true #1 shutdown corner on our team would do wonders for our defense. I'd also draft another in the first or second round.

Browns have an embarrassment of riches at RB. Johnson is perfect. Perfect.

is $3.5m/year enough to pry him away from the Browns.... ??

BJ Hill really came into his own this year and he’s young. Tim Settle would also be good depth on the IDL. You could probably get both of them for a total of $11-12 mil a year. Hill can rush the passer and is good in run D. Where Settle is more run D than pass rush. Add those 2 and resign Jones and you have a good start of revamping the IDL. Adding Dorance Armstrong would be a good rotational edge rusher behind, Bosa, Nwosu(resigned) and Rumph. I like drafting DE/OLB Ali Fayad in the 6th.

I think there are ways to structure signing bonuses to lessen the cap hits.

I hope you're right about MW for $14M. Sounds on the light side though. The numbers being thrown around are much higher, with the franchise tag figure being 25% of the $79M total cap space. For me, he's not worth that number. We could get Cedric Wilson and Russell Gage for less than that.

A DL of: Jones, Sebastian-Day, and Phillips would give you a stout run D. Rotate in Tillery, Johnson, and Gaziano for situational football... and that would be a relative cheap re-build.

                        And it would infuse youth/health.
This is where I am at. Exactly the type of signings I would like to see for IDL depth. Agree about bringing back Justin Jones. Pair him with SebJ-Day and have a better back-up like Johnson or Phillips.

Than for the draft you can probably focus on RT, CB and another younger IDL in R1-4 along with RB.

Like last free agency, the goal was to solidfy the OL - two starters in Feiler and Linsley plus what maybe was thought to be depth in Aboushi who became a starter

Same thing here - build the interior of the Dline - thats where it starts

This is kind of what I came up with too for many of the players above. Great minds I guess

End result, I came up with about 15m of cap space to sign other team free agents after signing our own players plus draft picks.

I am not sure Hopkins costs 3m and I don't think Guyton does as an ERFA. But all in well - good work
