Michael Mann retweeted Shawne Merriman. This is about more than I can stand. Awesome.

The commercial shoot with Merriman and announces the release of his first novel: A prequel and sequel to 'HEAT.'

"Well you know, for me, the action IS the juice. I'm in."

I doubt the Bengals let him leave the team since they have a bunch of cap space - but again, if he is available, worth a call. And yes, next to Justin Jones would be nice.

Brandon Thorn throws out some OL names for FA:
          1. The 2022 free agent crop of offensive linemen looks strong right now, with a pretty clear top group of impact starters consisting of Terron Armstead, Brandon Scherff, Jason Kelce, Ryan Jensen, Duane Brown, Trent Brown, and Ben Jones. This isn’t a young group of names either. They’re likely short-term fixes for a line, but they are all still playing at a high level with at least one to two seasons of above average or better play left in the tank.

No idea. But it starting to feel like a draft pick than a FA pickup.

The Chargers are going to have to spend a like dollar amount to replace him - also around the same age too.
I absolutely agree with you on a vet minimum guy and UDFA. That does nothing! I think they bring in 3 Dlinemen, that’s including edge via free agency plus a high draft pick. I hope it’s along the lines of.

Jets beat write on who the FO should keep and who they should dump. Here’s a couple of names:
The Jets have won six games in two seasons — there should be roster turnover. Here are 20 players and whether they should stay or go.

                  Morgan Moses, offensive tackle

                  Keep or dump: Dump

Why? Morgan Moses’ late release from Washington is why the Jets were able to get him on the cheap — one year, $3.6 million. He actually wasn’t supposed to start this year. He lost a training camp competition with George Fant, so he was going to be the swing tackle. Then Mekhi Becton suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1, Fant went to left, and Moses took over at right. He finished 2021 with a ProFootballFocus grade of 70.9, allowing four sacks, 10 quarterback hits and 35 hurries. He was solid, but for the price it’s going to cost to keep him, it’s just not worth it.

The Jets do have real concerns with Becton — that’s a fact. They don’t know if he can stay healthy (he hasn’t his first two years) and if he’s dedicated enough to stay in shape. They’re hoping he reaches his Pro Bowl potential, but you can’t say for certain if that’s going to happen. That doesn’t really impact the Moses decision, as much as it does what the Jets do at No. 4. A left tackle (Evan Neal, Ikem Ekwonu) is very much in play. The Jets can then have Fant and Becton compete for the right tackle spot.
                  Foley Fatukasi, nose tackle

                  Keep or dump: Dump

Why? This is a tough one for me. Similar to Braxton Berrios (get to in a minute). It really comes down to price. Foley Fatukasi is a great run-stuffer. He’s great in the locker room. The Jets would love to have him back. The concern is what Fatukasi is going to get on the open market, and how much the Jets are willing to spend for a one- or two-down player. The Buccaneers just gave Vita Vea a four-year, $73 million extension. That’s an average of $18.5 million per year. Fatukasi isn’t anywhere near that type of player, but will he try to get something worth $10, $11 or $12 million annually? Do the Jets really want to pay that after drafting Jonathan Marshall, a player with a very similar skill set, last year? The Jets should absolutely bring Fatukasi back for the right price. I just think he ends up getting a better deal elsewhere.

Be careful what you wish for. I recall a lot of these same sentiments when we brought in Bulaga.
