I've heard Houston is not taking a QB, rather, they will go defense and wait until 2024 for USC QB Caleb Williams. That is the rumor. YMMV.

What would it take to get into position to draft Bijan Robinson, Michael Mayer and Zay Flowers this draft? This year's 1-2-3 and next year's 1-2-3? I think I'd do it if that's what it would take. These three players would elevate the Chargers to the top the mountain for the foreseeable future.

Williams would easily be the #1 QB in this draft but he is not eligible.

Ekeler was 7th in total yards from scrimmage in 2022 and 6th in 2021, about 1,600 yds each of those seasons. Yes, he is not a great pound and round between the tackles RB, which is what this offense desperately needs. I'm at the point where I wouldn't object to mortgaging this year's and next year's draft to move up for Bijan Robinson, a really good TE, and a really good and fast WR. Adding the right players at these three positions this season would set up the Chargers as a top 3 or 4 team for the next many years.

Ekeler is a really superb player at what he does best. But his best does not include being a between the tackles power runner that can punish defenses pounding the rock. And that is what this offense really needs.

It's maddening. They KNOW who they are going to pick; and it's not like they're going to trade out of the #1 overall pick. They're just milking it for the air time. They should reduce the allotted time in the first round from 10 minutes to 7 minutes.

Can anyone explain to me why Mayer would be a better choice at #21 than Sam 'the tank' Laporta.
One is a Golden Domer, the other plays with a crappy qb at the less glamorous school, Iowa.
