If Herbert plays (and that’s an if because he was in tremendous pain), he’s gonna have to play differently. No run threat and get the ball out even quicker. I would expect to see more holding calls as well because the coaches would have to tell the OL if you are losing control of your guy tackle him. Herbert can’t take any hits.

the good news if there’s any is that it’s on his left side. His throwing motion on that long pass to Carter and the TD to Palmer wasn’t affected

Agreed. Let's be real we are in the 4th quarter, it was a mistake to run the hurry up, we just made a long play. Is this on the OC or should Herbert of huddled them up? KC's D won the game with their play in the 3rd quarter and 4th. In these first 2 games we have to get better at finishing games when we are up and the game could go either way! This is what Staley is trying to teach, dominate! dominate! Dominate!

I think hurrying up to the line and running a quick play after a nice gain is part of Staley's offensive plan. We've seen it several times now. This time it backfired so everyone noticed it.

Staley/Lombo need to do a better job here...that hurry-up O decision looked like the kind of bonehead game decision that Lynn would make...

the worst part is every defender knows where to hit Herbert to hurt him or force him out of game..... dirty coaches will tell their players to drill Herbert in those ribs with helmet even after he releases the ball ...... its worth one 15 yard penalty to keep us from winning......

I remember one season, Rivers got drilled in ribs by a dirty patriot LBer cracking one of them(in like 1st or 2nd game) and it affected his passes for half the season..... every pass Rivers threw after that injury he was wincing and crumpling over..... he still made plays but not near as accurate as when healthy.......

Bosa has been called for shoulder pad to the ribs.

The NFL rule book speaks in terms of it being recognized that QBs are vulnerable while passing, immediately before during and immediately after.

I predict Herbert won't miss a game - he'll rub some dirt on it and trot out there.

Not that we all didnt want it but new rules that prevent kick team from getting a running start almost eliminates onside kick recovery unless the ball bounces weird a lot. That one took one bounce from the original Chief to the guy that recovered it. There was no chance for a Charger to get there in that time. silly to blame the players for not being there.

Well, Feiler isn’t as good as a rookie in his second NFL game ever, in fact not even remotely close to as good, so …there’s that.
