I can all but promise you we will look back and wish we had moved on from him sooner. I worry that this becomes a wasted year because of Herbert's injury and they give Lombo ANOTHER chance because of it.

The problem with the team is execution in all phases of the team, not the offensive game plan so no I don’t see that happening. We had a top 5 offense last year running his offense. That didn’t happen in a void or in spite of him as some have posted.

No one is ever happy with the HC amd OC. I'm sure Boss Ross caught some shit too. We know Beathard did .

Hard not to criticize the tone-def playcalling with the talent we have. Just the way I (and many others including in the media) see it. Especially when so many of our positive plays are either broken plays Herbie makes magic with, or space alien effort like Williams one-handing that TD catch. Lombo just has so little feel for what’s going on down on the field IMO. What’s this O’s identity? We all know what it should be, but it’s really a big nothing, has been since last year even with the gaudy stats.

It does appear as if the team is wasting Herbert’s gifts right now (also don’t believe we can’t block, not pre-Clapp at any rate).

Also Palmer and Herbert were so off it made me wonder are they even running plays they practiced, or is Lombo seeing ghosties and calling “clever” plays they just didn’t work on that week. Cuz they were really off, either Herbie was continually throwing late/early or Palmer was stopping too soon/late, or both, but it was bad. And both are better players.

As mentioned in the other thread, the double standard on offenses needing to open it up late in desperation time is kind of funny.
