Let JH start calling the plays. Problem solved. Peyton and TB12 had a lot of leeway and JH could develop into something VERY special.
And make Lombardo call the game from the field. No more isolation booth for him.

Bottom 5 running team in the league. Piss poor. Can’t blame the OL they rebuilt that. Is it the backs or the play design and predictable nature of the runs. I’d say both.

Like both of these ideas...maybe if Lombo is on the sideline, he sees how gassed Everett is, and takes him out one play to rest up...

Rivers got more reckless the crappier the team was around him.
How would Rivers (& the team) perform with this collection of Oline, defense & receivers?

Indy's talent was middling, and a well past his prime Rivers got it to the playoffs.
He throws very few interceptions in post season" typically because those teams are not steaming piles of crap.

I heard someone yesterday compare Derek Carr to Matt Ryan And PR.

i'm sure herbert has the go ahead to choose plays based on what he sees at the line of scrimmage

Popper reported that Herbert is more than willing to check down to a safer outlet pass than take risks deep and isn't a gunslinger like a Josh Allen is. The irony of all of the Lombardi bashing is that a large part of our shorter ball control passing may be what our QB is most comfortable doing, despite his rocket arm.

That can't be true, it's has to be on all Lombardi.
                The Chain Gang says so.

I guess we’re going to have to move on from Herbert

I think PR would do better with our current line...when we kept the pressure from Phil, he was virtually unstoppable and accurate...the problem is, if PR went to the playoffs with our current O-line, the opposing D's get better, and the pressure increases...and that's where Phil got into trouble--the pressure made him press more and sling the rock into coverage for picks...I do think that Rivers would go deeper into the playoffs with the current O-line than with the line he had his last few years...maybe, just maybe, he would catch a break or two and make it to the SB...

The bottom line in the first two games is the defense has played better than any defense the Chargers have had since Merriman and Jamaal Williams were their best.

Considering how the defense dominated and kept Raiders and Chiefs in check, the offense we expected should have produced easy wins.

Instead, the offense sputtered in the second half of both games because it was unable to make adjustments.

If Jag game looks like the first two, it won’t just be some on this forum complaining about Lombardi. I expect every NFL talking head will join the bandwagon.

I trust Lombardi knows the pitchforks will be out for him if he doesn’t coach a better 2nd half this weekend.

Send Mack to Lombardi’s office for a wake up call.
