However, Bosa's injury history, like Gordon's, are a concern which could diminish his value when the time comes to extend his deal, if it happens. Bosa's fifth option year is next year, when his base salary takes a big jump from $720k (this year) to $14 mil, if Bosa doesn't pull a Gordon and sit out. I sure hope we can extend him, but I'm not in favor of paying any player crazy money unless he is an elite player at his position, very important to the team, AND does not have a checkered injury history...

And then we got sidetracked onto Bosa. Bosa is a special talent when he's not dealing with foot issues or some other weird injury. I wasn't impressed how he disappeared in New England. He has a lot to show me before I give my blessing to Telesco to pay him. The Bosa Clan appears to be susceptible to injury. Daddy Bosa lost his career to repeated injury, and so far Joey has been somewhat fragile. Now you have Nick up the coast who is coming into the NFL after missing most of his final College season due to injury. I was a little surprised where he was drafted. At this point I'm not sure I would give a bunch of guaranteed money to any Bosa.

C'mon man. Bosa was playing with a club foot last year. There was no Tillery. And Brady got rid of the football reeeeal fast.
Agree w/richpjr.
Pay da man.
Joey & Co will destroy in '19.We play modern Harball.

If Bosa can put together some games where he is an elite edge rusher in 2019, I'd try to get a contract done. Currently we don't know what he has to offer, other than rep.
Gordon has never been an elite, not likely to become one. Prove me wrong MG.

IMHO he needs an injury-free, monster season to get elite money. I know he plays, after QB, the second most premium position, but is a 10 or 11 game elite player worth 16 game elite money? Bosa needs to make this question go away by having his best season ever. Otherwise I can see a repeat of the Gordon situation happening with him.
