Steichen isn't a good OC and he can't be retained when we hire a new HC. I want the new HC to pick his own staff.

It was a stupid call period. Steichen is not a good OC and he needs to go when Lynn is fired.

Too many situations hes been in over his head. Its clear when Rivers was here he hid alot of the deficiencies by managing the game. He is so under qualified for the job.

I think he intentionally doesn't involve himself too much in the gameday calls by OC and DC. He doesn't want to second guess them and be looking over their shoulder or slow them down by interfering with their calls. Plus he hired them to do those jobs.

He has a game plan for each opponent of how to attack and counter attack depending on what opportunities are available and what the opponent is doing. And he gives the OC and DC freedom to call the game based on the game plan.

I don't think Lynn wants to micromanager his staff.
But he may have to if they make these type of decision.

The Rivers covering up a lot of Lynn’s flaws was brought up in the past day or so and was really something that hadn’t occurred to me before. I don’t think Herbert has the autonomy to say screw this call and save the coaching staff like Rivers did.

I think Rivers did hide a lot of things because he was so mentally in the game
