You guys aren’t keying in on the time tested Charger FO method. We’ve seen it many times. They don’t make rush decisions, because that would not be the mark of a mature stable organization. And obviously - they are stable, and they are mature.
So instead, they wait a few weeks after the season ends and carefully evaluate the performance of the HC, his staff, the groundskeeper, the buffet vendor, and only THEN do they fire their HC, after all of the best available candidates have already been hired by the other suck teams.
The downside of this mature stability is they are left with nothing but the remnants in the b-side coaches bin to pick from. So they will get another Lynn or McCoy. But hey - it will be new and fresh, and the 23 remaining fans here on TPB will be excited again! Half of us might even go to a game! WOO!

They've got the whole month of december to make a short list of head coaches they might be interested in to interview. If this happens then you are completely right and they are beyond redemption. LOL! You forgot the Jockstrap washer!

That is how they did it when Marty got the boot and is the reason we got Norv'd
Anthony Lynn has demonstrated beyond all doubt that he is the worst head coach in the entire NFL and the worst head coach in Charger history. This season has been a study in how a head coach can take a playoff caliber roster in a year of expanded playoff teams and so thoroughly apply poor coaching that the team is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with four weeks left in the regular season.
This is a guy who started the wrong QB from day 1 only to be rescued by the medical staff.
This is a guy that routinely has the wrong game plan when the game plan should be fairly obvious.
This is a guy that has regularly failed to manage a lead, blowing 5 double digit leads and setting an NFL record for blown leads of 16+ points in four consecutive weeks.
This is a guy that is 4-20 in one score games since the beginning of the 2019 season and 0-9 in divisional games over that same period.
This is a guy that does not know how to manage a game clock.
This is a guy that has demonstrated absolutely zero ability to learn or to adapt his approaches to what his team does well.
And just when you thought it could not get any worse, in the past two weeks, we have seen a game clock managed so poorly that an intelligent 5th grader would have done better; a special teams effort for a single game that was among the worst in NFL history that included a missed FG, a blocked FG for a TD, a punt return TD, another 60+ yard punt return, multiple special teams penalties, and three instances on punts in which the team could not even get the correct number of players on the field (this being the result of Lynn taking on an increased role in coaching the special teams); and the most lopsided (45-0) loss in team history and third worst shutout loss since the merger--to a team with significantly less talent than ours with a great head coach in the ultimate demonstration of the difference that good coaching versus bad coaching makes.
Your takes about Anthony Lynn were as wrong as wrong could be and even more wrong than your takes about the Colts and the Colts versus the Chargers, which is really saying something.
Crusher,I rarely agree with the way you state/cherry pick things but proof is in the pudding. This season the pudding has been nasty. We need a new chef, new menu, and some new ingredients.
Belicheat is 6-7
He needs a better roster. This was predicted by many. That without the Goat he would fall back to a .500 coach.
Coaching matters but Talent matters more.
Chargers have some shiny toys. Herbert, Allen, Ekeler. But the overall roster is not very good. And if Bill was coach they still would not make playoffs even if they managed to win a couple more games. It wouldn't be enough.

The bigger problem is the roster. Telesco!?!?
Yes Pats roster isn’t very good and especially at Qb. But the mismatch in coaching last Sunday was so pronounced that he beat us 45-0.
meanwhile the GOAT is struggling a bit and his team is only 7-5 and have plenty of talent.
Pats have a secondary, an interior Oline, and mostly journeymen everywhere else. Any other coach and you are looking at a bottom 3 team. Pats had a lot of starters drop out due to covid and have had the 30th, 31rst or 32nd pick in the draft the last decade.
That Belichick has that team at 6 - 7 is a miracle. It has lots of holes that competent coaching staffs are able to exploit.
