granted, I think they win Sunday and the defense has a good game and get multiple sacks and they will win comfortably 31-14

Johnson will have 12 years in the NFL and two as an OC at the end of the season.
Staley had only 4 years in the NFL and one season as a DC when he was hired.
Johnson is more like Nick Sirianni, who was in the league for 12 years and was OC at Indy for three seasons before getting the Philadelphia job.
Johnson is an offensive coach who is fully vested in the current NFL. Harbaugh has not coached in the NFL for a decade. Belichick is old and crotchety. I'll take Johnson over either all day long.
* You should review Dick Vermeil's coaching gap & success between his Eagles days to his Rams days!

I'm not saying Johnson will surely fail but for me,.....I'm tired of the failed repeat of first time HCs. And all were fine OCs.....except for Lynn who was just a RB coach but got to be an intern HC for 1 or 2 games.
Then we likely have to put up with JohnBoy or Dean finding another cheap GM before the rookie HC debacle.Last edited by Boltjolt; 11-15-2023, 08:00 PM.

Harbaugh should also have a leg-up in the next few draft classes coming from college and specifically recruiting (even illegally perhaps).
He is hungry to match and beat his brother's success at the NFL level.
hell, he can hire greg roman if he wants to recreate that SF team. Herbert would be amazing in that offense.P1. Block Destruction
P2. Shocking Effort
P3. Ball Disruption
P4. Obnoxious Communication

Joe Cullen has had a lot of success as a defensive line coach, which is where he will most likely stay. After his previous issues with alcoholism, which included driving through a Wendy's drive-thru naked, right or wrong I don't think the Spanos family will be interested in him running the defense. He was the defensive coordinator under Urban Meyer in Jacksonville and wasn't retained after Urban's disastrous run as the Jaguars' head coach.
