It's frustrating!. There were missed PI and hold that Raiders actually did and Chargers got some impactful bogus calls.

Typical Charger meltdown but they weren't going to beat the Bills anyway.
Wonder if any coach has ever gone for it on 4th and 2 inside their own 20 down 10 or less in the 3rd???
Murray is horrible, what a disaster by Telesco. They only have 2 linebackers(resign White). Wondering if a 3rd linebacker is a bigger need than DT if Jones and Joseph come back.
Both are big needs imo.

They put up a ton of yards in desperation time (the final 3 drives); and yet, they were not exactly a smooth oiled motion ....Herbert constantly bailed them
out on 4rth down with some improbable passes.
Except for the two 1rst half scores, the offense looked confused as to how to exploit the Raider D all night.Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:
- 69-74 record
- 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
- Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
- 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
- 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
- Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
- Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

I do believe that the Raiders would have run the clock out......Game wise, it was the safest thing to do... a blocked field goal could have resulted in a Chargers TD. Why take the risk in a meaningless situation........ but the Timeout by Staley gave them time to think about it... the fans, Madden perhaps, or just pissed that Staley would mess with them.

That was even worse than Marty's 4th and 8 against the Pats.
Marty said fuck it.

but what drives me crazy, is the raiders defense had several ex-chargers who we cut because they flat out sucked..... yet teamer and facsyon(whom every opponent targeted when he was a charger) were batting away passes.....?..... and suddenly they can play as raiders for our previous sucky coach????
that makes no sense....

Probably best that they lost tonight.......Telesco will not go into his typical post playoff complacency.
Having pick 17 will be nice.....keeps Telesco away from the 20s.

we have the right qb and hc, yes, I said Headcoach.
just need to Charger Harder in 2022
and use cap space to buy a defense
Sorry this post isn't negative enough but this is year one
stay the course
PS
I will never forget Herbert's gutsy 4th quarter 19 play game tying drive. shades of Rivers and fouts type toughness on that drive.
But agreed on the 4th qtr drives by Herbert. UNBELIEVABLE the 4th down conversions all on one drive!

It was a brutal loss, and a mixed season. Honestly, the season I'm reminded of is the 2005 season. We knew we had a decent amount of talent, but we were still missing some pieces and no5 everything was clicking. But we have an absolute stud of a QB, and I'm in the camp of believing in Staley. I think the decision to go for it on fourth down in the third quarter was in part a play on momentum, or trying to get the momentum. It failed, but it's worked other times for us.
Let's just remember that this was year one, and I think we saw a lot of guys on this team have their best season as a pro, which speaks to me that we have solid coaching.

Not their best game.
I would have liked to seen Pipkins start,
especially after Norton vs Maxx earlier this season. We do not play modern football.

this is from Tony Dungy not some conspiracy theorist
It is weird how you can just feel
"attitude" from officials.
These guys were playing to the LVR fans.
The Back Judge with the white sideburns loved calling DPI on us all night.
Him n Referee laughing about it.
Fans of 32 teams are unhappy with the quality of officiating.
Oh the near misses and drops.
Insane performance by Herbert.
Quite a Charger off season coming. We do not play modern football.
