What does the weather got to do with it when playing indoors in an enclosed stadium in Las Vegas?Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
My problem with yesterday is Lombardi didn't seem to account for the fake he had back-ups in the game
Last year, it was a cold monday night game. Patriots against the Bills - . Mac Jones passed three times. The Patriots ran the ball over 40 times ( I just looked it up)
Patriots ran a lot of two TEs where the second TE was actually an OT. So the patriots decided weather was a factor, we are going to run the ball, field position, punt, all of that.
Lombardi coached yesterday like he had a normal roster. That tells me all I need to know about the guy
We haven't ran the ball well all year and you wanted to run the ball all the time yesterday with our crap backups?
I mean sure the run game when effective does help the pass game but Ekeler only average 3.5 yards per carry when we did run and he fumbled on a successful screen and gave the ball back.
That is not Lombardi's fault.Last edited by Boltjolt; 12-05-2022, 06:53 PM.

^This. Not only that, but Herbie masks how terrible Lombo's playcalling is. Herbie is the ultimate Lombo Enabler...Originally posted by Riverwalk View PostNothing is going to change. The injury excuse will be played like every year and we will have the same GM and coaches next year.
Herbert is so good, he masks how terrible the rest of the team is. If Chargers had Carr or many other QB’s in the league they would have 0 wins and Spanos would be forced to clean house as there would be nobody attending the home games but visitor fans.

That is like saying Brady masks how terrible the Bucs play calling is. The reality is elite QBs always make OCs look good and bad QBs make the OC look bad.Originally posted by Topcat View Post

An utter disgrace.Originally posted by BayAreaBoltz View PostThe pundit reviewing the play calling of Lombardi is SO spot on here. It's not just that we have injuries. It's that Lombardi's ROUTE scheme is woeful and uncreative, IMO.

It'll confirm everything you believe about Lombo's play "designs" and make you sick/sad.

What he says after the touchscreen part ends is the deal. Guyton should be running those clear outs and Herb loves to hit him deep. It was disappointing they dont go over the blocking scheme as another reason Herb checkdowns.Originally posted by BayAreaBoltz View PostThe pundit reviewing the play calling of Lombardi is SO spot on here. Wow...just total confirmation of what I've been saying for MONTHS...Lombo's O is so predictable, lacking in variety...they also pointed out how each route is usually isolated from the others, with no interplay between routes to free the receivers up and create better separation...he also mentioned how such predictable routes result in really tight coverage, forcing Herbie to throw into really tight windows...sometimes it works because Herbie is so talented, but lots of times it ends up incomplete or picked because the defender jumps the route, knowing that it's going to be that old predictable stick or go route...just sad the way the Bolts are wasting Herbie's talent...Originally posted by BayAreaBoltz View PostThe pundit reviewing the play calling of Lombardi is SO spot on here.
