One might notice that the Steelers are trending up. Their offensive line has settled in with consistent roles. This has helped rookie QB Pickett.

I consider criticism of Lombardi to be off target. The return of Linsley, MW and possibly Parham is noteworthy. If we can somehow stabilize the offensive line, leading to establishment of a running attack, that can lead to surprising results.

The idea that Lombardi is too simplistic, with all that mountainous supporting evidence shouted to the world, misses the big point. Lombardi runs an entirely different offense than Mike McDaniel. The concepts, not to say available personnel, are distances apart.
We do not play modern football.

Yes, compare a healthy Allen and Williams vs Hill and Waddle. Massively different skill sets that lead to massively different play calls.

I believe I heard that Parham is not playing today.

Thanks for the heads up on Parham richpjr.

And for keeping us all from getting too extreme.

With a healthy line last year and Slater playing at at all pro level Herbert was 18th last year in pass ave.

Still too low given his talent and arm.

This year you can start by rolling out your big athletic QB who throws as well as anyone does on the move alot more.

But last year the offense was 5th in DVOA, 4th in yards and most importantly fifth in points scored. To me, it's very hard to come to any real conclusions about Lombardi because of the massive amount of injuries.

TOP and points scored are big. We do need to run the ball better as well.

This season has been a lot of frustration from the injury bug standpoint as we saw in preseason, the depth was not that good

Even more frustrating is the front office standing pat with the roster as the injuries mounted, aside from bringing up practice squad trash while riding out the injuries. It may literally cost a chance at the playoffs.

                    All true Canada.
It looks like there is another level of athleticism that Herbert cannot quite give us yet.

Agree. Another reason I'm ready to move on from Telesco.

Lombo hasn't established a rushing attack anywhere, after 4 seasons as an OC (Detroit / L.A.)
                        Why will this suddenly change?

They had everyone available the first two games.
It would have been nice to lean on the run against K.C., inside the 5, that 4rth Quarter in Arrowhead.

The excuse back then was that it will take the running game time.
Getting everyone back now will no doubt take time again to gel.

It looks like his body might be ready but he is not there mentally quite yet. He looks a little tentaive and is sliding very early. Cant blame him after his injury or the lack of protection he is getting lately
