Against teams with hurt and/or backup QB's playing. Not giving the D a whole lot of credit under these circumstances.

No excuses . . . . . . . just not extending extra credit for doing an easy job . . . . . I wouldn't give my guys a pat on the back for being good at taking out the trash . . . . . that's just kind of expected, ya know?

We dominated the game and almost lost. The final score was 23-17 and the Dolphins had the opportunity to beat us at the very end. So I wouldn't
exactly call it an ass kicking even though we did out play them.

We've had a LOT of games like that the past few years...we gotta learn to close out games, not turtle up and let teams hang around and either beat us or almost beat us...hopefully now we learn to put Moore gas on the fire and scorch these opposing teams...

Chargers had too many close games last year that easily could have flip

York makes a FG in Cleveland
the DL fumbles on the play Ek fumbled in FG territory
needing the Denver punt returner to fumble in OT
barely beating a Titans team without a QB

Chargers have to start winning games by two possessions; more easy dominating victories

Ws all count equally. One is not better than another.

We played 12 one score games last year. We won 7, lost 5. More than 8 pts difference, 3-2.
We did that with a scoring offense that had dropped quite a bit in efficiency.
2023, fully healthy Herbert, highly rated OC Moore, QB coach Nussmeier, upgraded WRs,, OL depth,
looks like we'll compete at a higher level.

In real life I'm the leader of a team (construction management), and I'm responsible for everything that team does. If my team screws up, my ONLY response to my CEO or our investors is ' I apologize - I didn't manage well enough. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again'. What I do with my team members behind the scenes may be an entirely different story. In this respect my job is exactly the same as an NFL head coach - or anyone in a leadership position. If I were to say anything to my superiors that had the feel of avoiding or deflecting responsibility my superiors AND my team would lose respect for me. This is why what Staley said concerns me. I certainly lost a great deal of respect for him, and lost confidence in his leadership abilities as well (combined with the way he handled the Bosa incident during the game).

What do you think his players thought when they read or heard what he said? They were there - and at least the veterans know what's what. Do you think his public statements generated respect in the locker room? Or reduced his stature in their eyes? We'll never know, but his statements are unlikely to have increased his stature with his players - that's for sure.

Any time a coach speak in public, its coach speak. You didn’t like his coach speak, ok. Maybe he needs to get better at coach speak. Ok. I don’t put too much into anything a coach says publicly.

Players hear the real coach talk to them directly in private, your constant public dick-measuring based on public pablum is not the best gage of anything - still. respect, stature, gravitas … all imagined optics you obsess over. Urban Meyer had universally regarded gravitas. All gurus think Payton has the same, we will see but I still do not worry about a Denver Miracle in 2023 just as a year ago I said right here that I did not worry their signing Wilson gave them instant QB credibility. You don’t have any evidence that the players are negatively affected by any of your personal concerns or that it will affect the team in 2023.

Keep me posted if you ever do, thanks in advance.

This is good. 34 minutes of Justin just chattin' whilst swinging a golf club with one arm.

                        Ummm...
idk the host or if what he's saying is accurate but
He said Justin isn't healthy enough to swing with both hands and yet Herbert insisted on playing today.

a little concerned. As disciplined as JH is, the one thing
I can imagine him taking liberties on is physical activity.
my lazy ass can sit and rest all day! Ha!

I just hope Herbert's Dr approves his 1 armed swinging technique.

Pac-10 Stars Michael Pittman Jr. and Justin Herbert go fishing. Sheldon H.S. Fishing Club President is in his element here.
