Dielman is the kinda dude that you would like to go with to a roughneck bar, play some classical music on the jukebox & just wait for all Hell to break lose. We need 5 of those.

The guy didn't start as an OL. He was a converted DT and played like it. Loved watching him play.

While he kept himself in amazing shape, luck had alot to do with it. He managed to avoid any knee issues for a long time. That's what seems to kill RB's.

People love Kris Dielman, but are forgetting G Mike Goff. No guard carried a higher grade, as pointed out by SI's Paul Zimmerman, before his stroke. The right pulling guard, signed as a free agent from Cincinnati, as well as Steve Foley, by AJ Smith and run to near-perfection by Marty Schottenheimer.

Can't have the Power Sweep w/o the pulling RG.

I wasn't quite as high on Goff as I was on Dielman because Goff often drew penalties for extracurricular activity. They were both very good.

Great video. Los Angeles will never embrace the Chargers like San Diego did. What a shame. If only Dean Spanos had the smarts to be more creative about getting a new stadium built in San Diego with demanding taxpayers gift him one.

One of the best free agent classes the Chargers ever had. Foley, Goff and Randal Godfrey, Before the Foley shooting, those three were just rock solid NFL players.

The glory days - those Marty teams. Damn

If the Chargers can find a few free agents like that - rock solid pro's. Maybe not pro bowlers - just rock damn solid pro's! The Chargers need to find that kind of Oline again. You give me an Oline like Oben, Dielman, Harwick, Goff and McNeill - thats a winning damn team (I think I have the guys right)

San Diego was his for the taking. He didn't want it.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Oracle, McKesson, HP, Tesla......these are just some of the largest companies moving out of Cali to Texas. Perhaps the Chargers should've moved to Austin or San Antonio. A true fresh start. Said Texas cities would've backed any NFL team.

There's nothing wrong with San Diego or LA. It's just that everyone knows the spanos too well in California and if the spanos don't change they will be forced to sell the team.
