What’s Herbert’s floor? Tyrod Taylor?

Glad to see everyone’s looking at the positives of this Herbert pick. He won’t be asked to do much in the offense we’re installing. We have 3 QBs with near elite athleticism. I look for the new offense to take advantage of that.
Dude’s smart. Hard working. Will probably have the playbook down by the start of the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if he learns quick and replaces TyGod sometime this season.

it starts with the physical tools, and i have lots of reasons to expect JH to grow with pro coaching.
I really am fascinated
kid looks like a soldier needing a good general.

If Herbert becomes the next Josh Allen, then props to Telesco for a great pick !!!

EDIT - it starts with a short clip of Simms talking about Herbert but don't click off when that's done - the good analysis is next..Last edited by chargeroo; 04-24-2020, 01:35 PM.THE YEAR OF THE FLIP!

So some of the excellent throwing sessions at the senior bowl, combine, and pro day, may represent some real improvement and not just him being well suited to those environments (still likely part of it). I think particularly when it comes to footwork, he seems to have made some genuine improvement.
Greg Cosell says mechanics, especially footwork is what makes fo consistent accuracy at the NFL level.
Good stuff, Score. We do not play modern football.

I'd like to thank the Oregon fans who joined and posted here. Thank you and welcome to the Powder Blues.
I can understand people not liking the pick, I don't understand shitting all over someone based on projection.
FWIW, Oregon won the Pac 12, and the Rose Bowl, and Herbert probably won't have another offensive teammate drafted. (maybe 1?)
-Compare that to Tua, or Burrow.
-Look what Love did at Utah his senior season with less talent around him...his numbers fell off. Herbert kept getting better.
I see a smart kid, who is a hard worker, and has all the physical characteristics you want.
Maybe he won't work out, but jeez, give him a shot.
Another note: He's not Carson Wentz or Josh Allen. Both of those guys ran a lot more. He's similar to them in size, and he's capable of running. But he doesn't run like that.
Tyrod will be the QB this year. And if he gets hurt, Stick might play first. That's how it may go. Who knows? I like his potential, though. 6'6" guys with arms like that, and mobility don't grow on trees.
Also (unrelated) It's BURROW .... NOT Burrows. There is no S."...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."
