Ya know how analysts keep saying teams are desperate for a QB right now cuz there’s no good ones in next year’s draft?
The opposite is true for CB. 2022 will be the year of the CB. The class is brimming with them. Maybe we should lock up our OT and S in R1-R2, then take the best available CB at #77. We can always draft a couple humdingers next year.
The list of 2022 CBs: Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, CB, TCU
T.J. Carter, CB, TCU
Josh Jobe, CB, BAMA Malachi Moore, CB, BAMA
Cobe Bryant, CB, CIN
Ahmad Gardner, CB, CIN Chase Lucas, CB, ASU
Jack Jones, CB, ASU Eli Ricks, CB, LSU
Derek Stingley, CB, LSU
Trent McDuffie, CB, WA
Tiawan Mullen, CB, IU
Derrick Canteen, CB, GASU
Mykael Wright, CB, ORE Kaiir Elam, CB, FLA
Isaac Taylor-Stewart, CB, USC Martin Emerson, CB, MS ST
Shyheim Battle, CB, NC ST
Karon Prunty, CB, KU
Derion Kendrick, CB, CLEM
Kei’trel Clark, CB, Louisville
Marcus Jones, CB, Houston
Avery Young, Rutgers
TCU and LSU are going to have big time secondaries.

Just watched some more tape of Christian Darrisaw and you know who he reminds me of, is Jason Peters, formerly of the Eagles. Exceptional large, thickness, looks slow but moves very smooth and effortless. Good reach. Very quiet feet, does not take false steps, efficient, uses punch as primary weapon. Very good run blocker, when he pulls its like parting the sea, creating cut-back & throwing lanes.

This draft has at least 3 elite lock down CB's.... and some other good ones who are better than the guys we have, and CB is one of the most important players in today's pass happy NFL, so we need to grab one in the first or second round..... and probably at least one more in another round....... new cannot wait a year to add a CB starter and at least one other to develop and play nickel and dime.....
The safeties in this draft are nothing special......
Agree we either need to grab one of the top OT's in round one or if they are gone then draft one of the second group of OT's in second round.....
And it is great to know we can add more good CB's next year..... our Corners are not great and we have only one great pass rusher...... we also need 2-3 more pass rushers, but unfortunately this draft is weak at pass rushers....

I think he would be fine selection #13.
I’ve watched all the 2020 Darrisaw tape. Not one penalty. No holds. No false starts.
Definitely can’t say the same for Slater. He can be a little handsy.

I’m most excited about Trent McDuffie. He’s an island, the next great Husky CB.
The thing with Darrisaw is not his physical attributes but it's the mental side. The guy's motor is only half speed, he seems to get lazy and not finish plays sometimes. If a guy that size has a tendency to get lazy on the field, you might see it off the field as well and then that opens the door to all sorts of weight, injury, motivational issues. I get that if Sewell and Slater are gone he might be the pick at 13 but I cant help but think he is more of a mid-20s, non-elite type of guy.

He definitely fits into the “gentle giant” category. Here’s 3 former NFL players that donned that nickname:
Forrest Gregg, HOFer
Fred Dean, Chargers legend
Haloti Ngata, future HOFer
Time will tell with Darrisaw.
He’s got some substantial kinks to iron out.
But he’s still my OT3 after Sewell and Slater.
