It’s been brought up before by someone (forgive me, y’all deserve credit, names escape me more than most)
but perhaps going to a more traditional 43 is perfectly set up for Tillery’s experience he’s getting at DE in Bosa’s absence
anyone have any strong thoughts/feelings around whether or not Tillery can play on the other side and a fulltime DE?
I would be in favor of moving on from MI and the scheme all together for several reasons but mostly, I don’t think anyone can fill Mels specific shoes, not even Mel. At least not to the 2018 production

Add in that Parsons, for all his uber athleticism is a B- at instincts.

We have Murray, Tranquill, Kizer and Perryman.

Oh, and we have Tevi, Pipkins and Bulaga for one more year, if his back holds up.

Finally we have Bosa. Nwosu and MI on a team friendly contract, plus Round Four value pick PRS's.

OLT has higher value over LB/Part Time PRS, both generally, and with Herb on board.

We want DAL to take Parsons, due to defensive deficiencies in Big D.

Or, even better, we want a QB needy team to trade up, giving us extra picks and Sewell.
Doubt we have Perryman after this season and Murray needs to have a 100% turnaround as he has been disapointing. Ingram needs to be upgraded big time as he probably wont be back and our pass rush sux.

Ive nothing against getting a OT as we need one but doubt Sewell is there for us. We will screw it up by beating somebody. If he is there then great, draft him but i wouldnt hold your breath. We will screw this up. If we lose to the Jets then its possible but they will beat somebody they shouldnt who perhaps rests their starters for the playoffs.

Tillery does look better lined up outside.
If changing the scheme improves the output of our players, I'm all for it. But Gus doesn't seem to use his players in their optimum role( see K. Murray)

I like the idea of Tillery and Bosa bookending a more traditional 4-3...we have good interior DT lineup in Joseph and Jones as well. Rochelle in the rotation, and in dime and nickel packages, 3rd downs, we can always bump Tillery inside, and put a speed guy/pass rush specialist on the end.

I think we got the players. Get rid of the single high concept as well...it hasn't been working, and it tips your hand knowing the matchups...both safeties can be more fluid and unpredictable in their coverages at the snap...jmo.
              Adopted Bolt: Kimani Vidal RB

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

                  Only if price is right.

I'm not too down on Murray yet...he is making classic rookie mistakes. Lack of patience, homing in on the dog pile of blockers too close, and losing sight of the RB who quickly slides through the cut back gap and ghosts him...it's all on film. Should be easy to fix....Still optimistic he will get there...

Me either. Just saying he has been disapointing but hope he has a massive upswing his sophomore season. Some guys arent great as rookies and need time.

Tranquil started running right out the gate. His good instincts made him play faster on the field. Can’t wait for him to come back from injury and play with Murray. I think he will do a better job lining up D.

                          Completely agree.
I also think it’s going to be increasingly important to have length on the edges for those outsize zone runs trending up since the 9ers had success with them last season.
also see screens to rbs continuing to grow, so hopefully having 6’6” Tillery out there translates to a few tipped passed.
