Last year Herbert had NO practice or preseason scrimmages with the lousy 2020 OL starters and had a great game against the Chiefs. He knows this year's starting O a Lot better today. I'm not worried about his need to meet them, at all.
Keenan & Cook need all the reps they can get?....really?
Vet OL , guys with a ton of NFL games under their belts vs DL depth? If Staley believes he can better prepare them to play Wash with practices & meetings, the same way we'll prep for at least 16 more games, go for it coach. We're tryin' to do something new here.
I agree with LT about RB & OL will improve together with reps but they're getting more reps in prac than they will in PS scimmage.

If a meteor falls on them it's gonna have a bad effect too. Let's put them in the shelter.

New offense, new defense, new coaches, a QB with only 15 games of experience, a new OL - come on, those are very good reasons to play them.

This defense of a bad decision reminds me of how you all defended McCoy when he was our new HC. I've been as impressed with what Staley has done so far as the rest of you but I'm not so impressed that I think he's perfect.

I just think not playing them at all is going overboard.

How many have we lost to injury at train9ng camp? Football is a contact sport, people suffer injuries. Maybe we should skip TC too?

You guys are kind of ranting now. We get the pros and cons. We see the respective positions. Repeating it 4 times doesn’t add to our observation.

I’m down with the No-Herb PS diet. 1 series of vanilla nothing isn’t worth anything that can’t be added into a practice where nobody is allowed to hit him. If it is that valuable, he’ll be all tuned up for the 2nd series of the reg season anyway. I can live with that - maybe we only win the first game by 30 instead of 50

I don't want him playing behind Qberry and Norton. If Linsley and Bulaga are sitting, Herbert is sitting. Period.

I wasn't comfortable with it at first because more reps is better, regardless of what they are, but the limited snaps vs the elevated injury risk (and general wear) is not worth it, certainly not when projected out over a 10+ year career.
