You perceive that they got worse. you don't have a freaking clue, you have a mildly informed opinion just like the rest of us. None of us have watched all the practice reps and broken down all the film. We are not running the same offense. T Billy very well could be making a lot of errors in practice on a daily basis. You talk about Palmer shortcomings.... How about your wait and watch a season of real games before you start labeling players. My guess? Palmer could get 6O catches for 700 yards and 6TDs touchdowns and you'd still b**** about it.
Chaincrusher has already declared that the more catches Palmer gets, the more he hurts the team.
Just to summarize today from my perspective, I think the Chargers should have kept Johnson and Broughton and cut Hall and either Kelley or Ogbongbemiga.

I like many of the decisions: jackson, merrill, vizcaino...the 10 dbs.
A greater emphasis seems to have been placed on special teams... not just lip service like in the past.

From a pure talent point, can't argue (although we have not really seen enough to judge hall or the bongman). However you want to add two players that don't play special teams and cut two players that do.
I think the special teams units are a bigger focus than most realize, including depth for special team spots. Now that they've cut the roster down I believe they'll be doing a lot of special teams in the upcoming two weeks prior to the start of the season and we will see a big improvement in our coverage teams.
Holy crap - a couple dozen pages to teach me that the vagaries between a #47 and #57 is the doom of the team.
Chainpucker actually thinks the team got worse just because of a single in his mind WR5. Ignore their new starting LT, completely rebuilt OL save RT, probable starting CB (or nickel), James, Adderley and The TranqGun all back, a promising rookie RB and solid backup OG prospect, a solid edge replacement for a faded no-sack T-Rex along with another interesting smaller but maniacal rush specialist, a true one-gap immovable line-clogging backup NT but no … the loss of a WR5 Tbilly who doesn’t even play STs and his 3 TDs spells the end of the franchise?
