Let's please try and remember that Staley was brought in to use the talent that is already here... correctly. He wasn't brought in to recruit players from other teams... or draft players. That's TT's job... whether we like it or not.
Agree, For 14 no way. Why would anyone hate on that? I don't really want him for 10 mil.
14 mil /yr is how much Mathieu makes and JJ isn't near as good as he is.

      Harder pass than before.
We definitely aren’t tying up $30-$35 million APY in 2 DS.

Wood, Ghost, etc what do you think of your boy’s salary expectations?

There sure are a lot of Safeties.
I expect us to sign JJ III for about $12 million per year.
We do not play modern football.

So $30+ tied up in 2 DS contracts after 2021/22? Or are you letting Derwin walk?

So I caught very little of a blurb about Leonard Williams being a target for the Bolts...maybe belongs in this thread...if you wanna pressure with 4, he would be a solution, but he would be hella expensive, right?
The TPB makes plans....And Jim Harbaugh laughs...

Final prediction: Latham OT, Colson LB, Sainristil CB,Rice WR, Zinter OG, Nourzad OC, MacLachlan TE, Vidal RB, Lovett DT

Still a hard pass for me.

Derwin if he stays healthy will come up in a couple years. He will get way more and then we have two safeties making as much as our WRs.

And we still gonna resign Davis? Lol.. Looks like we are drafting another Safety.

Staley values safeties and DL-play in his scheme, above all other positions, and John Johnson is a perfect-fit for the two-high safety zone and disguising their coverages, post-snap. I'm not sayin Rayshawn Jenkins can't do it, I'm instead implying that JJIII will perform the job at a much higher level. Still have use for Rayshawn at Dime packages.

It's a clear upgrade, as I project the 2020 Rams' defense, a very progressive defensive scheme, onto the 2021 Charger roster.

Makes so much more sense to go with two deep safety look...single high just puts too much pressure on that lone safety to cover too much turf...Adderley should be a lot more efficient...Gus was so clueless...just kept riding the coattails of the Legion of Boom for years, while failing to adjust to modern defensive schemes...

The Chargers should’ve also learned a lesson from their big offseason O-Line moves in 2020. Grabbing Turner and Bulaga was not necessarily a mistake at the time, but what was a mistake was not using any 2020 draft capital on the offensive line.
Yep...FA is a gamble...word from fans in Carolina is that Turner was starting to slack...then the injury...Beluga injured also...agree, we should have at least drafted one O-lineman...that 3rd rounder we coughed up for Murray could have come in handy there...

We'll see if teh Rams value JJ with a better offer, which could just be more years.
Fella, the Rams can't afford to sign him. They can't afford the accelerated cap-hit of a tag of their books, either.

Want him at his asking price of $14 APY?

I just want to mention I don't know where you got the $14 million/year. I posted no such number.

And I beg to disagree with you premise of why Brandon Staley was brought in. IMO, He is going to install his system, period. His system is very progressive, both in front end and secondary. He's going to churn the roster, get guys that fit Staley's system and build his program.

Case in point: He already fired every coach, down to strength & conditioning. I believe he has a mandate from the Spanos clan to build a winner, on both sides of the ball.
