agree..... not over yet.... but if we lose to DEN, it will be over.....
has there been any confirmation or list of what players will be out this week???
I saw someone posted that Adderley and most of secondary may miss this DEN game.....plus many others....... if true, it will be very difficult to beat a DEN team that is better than us overall even if both teams are healthy...... which is why we lost first game.....

Just wanted to post something positive. On defense, the players are getting their hands up more often to tip passes and block the QBs line of sight. The previous lack of this was always a pet peeve of mine, as a tipped pass & resulting interception can sometimes tip the balance of a game.

These include Bosa and Guyton. Would not be surprised if more players are reactivated this week.

And with the Rams/Ravens game going early, they cannot scoreboard watch and if the Cowboys were rolling against the CArdinals, put it on cruise control. That was very helpful to the Chargers that because the NFL and Fox wanted to increase viewership. As for Titans - still having a chance at the No 1 see plus Vrabel probably wants a better game than against the Niners,

Apropo of nothing--
Who was the worst Chargers head coach in the last 40 years? (This means, since '81, when Don Coryell was the HC.)
My candidates-- in no particular order:
(a) Mike Riley -- hard to bash him too bad, since he had a horrific squad of players to work with. Still-- not a good coach. 14-34 record in 3 seasons.
(b) Kevin Gilbride -- team sources confided that Gilbride screamed at EVERYbody: those above him, those below him, and those who were on his level. He alienated Junior Seau, which wasn't easy to do. Had a 6-16 record in 1-plus season. Never got another HC opportunity.
(c) Mike McCoy-- Mike was given far too many seasons (4) to prove he was unfit for the job, which he was. He was not a leader of men, and an embarrassment when addressing the media. McCoy lost two NFL Offensive Coordinator positions in three years after being dismissed by the Chargers. Over. His. Head. The Chargers went 27-37 in McCoy's years at the helm.
(d) Al Saunders-- took over for Don Coryell after Coryell was forced out in '86. He was so transparently two-faced with the media that it was easy to believe rumors that he was a lying-in-wait opportunist who agreed to take over the team while Coryell was still in charge. He compiled a 17-22 record in his almost-3 years as HC, and never got another NFL head coaching job.
(e) Dan Henning-- Henning coached the Bolts the same length of time Mike Riley did, and had just two more wins to show for it. 16-32. Somebody evidently thought that Henning's quarterback expertise could make good players out of guys like Billy Joe Tolliver, John Friesz, and Mark Vlasic. They were wrong.
There you have it, folks. Who's your pick?

McCoy shouldn't be on that list. Tough choice!
