His hiring was met with skepticism from day one and rightfully so, everyone thought the folks that coached herbert in 2020 had done a fantastic job, giving the kid continuity going into year two was never even considered, never…if he wasn’t as smart as he is, last year could’ve been a huge set back, now it’s just clear that Lombardi lacks creativity and vision plus the gumption to trust his ALL world QB, it’s fucking ridiculous, if you can’t trust a kid like justin herbert to make audibles and change plays based on what he sees, then who? lombardi would’ve ruined peyton manning for fuck’s sake! Oh and that stupid up tempo bullshit, it’s applied randomly across the board without situational awareness…going up tempo is good but should be used selectively in certain situations.

Right, we struggled moving the ball against a bad Raiders team in W1. The excuses then were about it being a division rival and first-game rust. It's not like this was a high-powered offense that went to shit with all the injuries.

The Chargers offense is a Ferrari that's never been allowed to get out of 1st gear.

firing lombardi will do for the offense what firing swinton has done for the special teams, if staley doesn’t catch on to that it’s going to cost him his job…

Mike Williams & probably Keenan Allen will return.

Lombo will have the opportunity to demonstrate where 'his' offense is before the end of the season.

Nobody ever is at full strength beyond the half-way point, and replacing Slater with Salyer is holding up.

There are some coaches who always seem to have an excuse.

My problem with Lombo's offense is the consistently poor results rushing the football he got in Detroit and now in L.A.
Shut down what he likes to do in the passing game and he's helpless.

Lions offense clearly went backwards rushing the football in 2014 (Lombo's 1rst year) when compared to the year before (2013).
The starting personnel on the offense didn't change, nor the top two rbs.

Warford missed 3 games in 2014, but otherwise Olinemen missed no games both years.
Reggie Bush missed 3 games in 2014; Bell missed no games in either year.

This hiring was a f*ck up. A good organization recognizes the mistake, fixes it, and moves forward.

I agree, his tenure as OC of the lions taught him jack shit, he’s limited upstairs otherwise he’d have learned something from that experience. He’s doing the same shit here that did in detroit, fuck lomnardi…they need to can his ass…

Even SDSU was Smart enough to get rid of their offensive coordinator mid season. And now look how well they’re doing using the converted safety as the 4th QB used this year….. and look how well they have been doing lately. Coordinators surely matter a lot

If staley doesn’t show lombardi the door it’s going to get staley fired…day can’t possibly be any worse…I always took Shane’s hiring as Staley hedging his bets in case lombo didn’t work out…
