Let MG hold out as long as he wants. If at any point he wishes to uphold his end of the contract, the Bolts should welcome him back. Then immediately after the final whistle of the final game, TT should thank MG for his services and announce the Chargers have ZERO interest in offering Melvin a new contract. Wish him good luck on his future.

            I see something.

HOU just waived starting RB D'onta Foreman this morning for having a bad attitude.

            They have cap space.

They have invested heavily in Oline.

            Veteran FA signing's:
            Matt Kalil.
            Senio Kelemete.
            Zach Fulton.
            Seantrel Henderson.

            Draftees:
            Nick Martin 16/Rd2.
            Julie'n Davenport 17/Rd4.
            Martinas Rankin 18/Rd3.
            Max Scharping 19/Rd2.
            Tytus Howard 19/Rd1.

            Connect the dots.

Right on, Wood. The Texans are one of the few teams that actually have a lot of cap room. And here u go:

Texans reportedly waive D'Onta Foreman; could they set their sights on Melvin Gordon
The Texans cut bait with former third-round pick Foreman, and have plenty of cap space to make a move

The Texans are cutting their losses with D'Onta Foreman as John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports the team is waiving the former third-round pick. McClain notes that Houston wasn't happy with Foreman's work habits.

The former Texas Longhorns back hasn't been able to get solid footing since coming into the NFL in 2017. Foreman missed the bulk of last season due to a torn Achilles he suffered back in Week 11 of the 2017 campaign. He was activated off PUP in early December, but was only able to suit up for Houston's Week 16 loss to the Eagles and then their defeat at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts on Wild Card Weekend.

The writing was on the wall for the Texans letting Foreman go. Head coach Bill O'Brien didn't appear pleased with Foreman's progress as he noted the backup role behind starter Lamar Miller was wide open, seemingly dismissing that Foreman was a lock for that spot.

During his tenure with Houston, Foreman rushed for 326 yards and two touchdowns, while catching eight passes for 111 yards and a touchdown during 11 regular season games. By waiving him, the Texans clear around $500,000 off their salary cap.

With Foreman out of the picture, that leaves veterans Miller, Josh Ferguson, Buddy Howell and Taiwan Jones as the running backs on the Texans roster, along with undrafted rookies Karan Higdon Jr. and Damarea Crockett.

Depending on how confident they are with Miller as the starter, it will be curious to see if the Texans become players for disgruntled Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. His agent, Demarius Bilbo, reportedly informed Los Angeles last week that Gordon wishes to be traded after the team initially gave the back a contract offer that would earn him around $10 million annually.

While Gordon may want a trade, Chargers general manager Tom Telesco did not give Bilbo and Gordon's camp permission to seek a trade partner. Gordon is currently holding out of training camp with the Chargers as he searches for a more lucrative contract.

In the case of the Texans, this could be an ideal opportunity that has seemingly fell on Gordon's lap. If they are interested in trying to acquire him from the Chargers, they have the second most amount of cap space at just over $38.5 million, which is plenty of dough to give him the contract he desires. If they were to pursue Gordon and wanted to also clean house by getting ride of Miller, they could clear an additional $6.2 million off of their cap.

Texans' Lamar Miller: Team seeks red-zone improvement
                by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Texans are looking to be a better rushing team in the red zone, particularly inside the 5-yard-line, John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports. Miller had just five attempts inside the 5 last season, tied for 31st.

if the Texans succeed in becoming a more productive rushing team in close, that will result in more touchdown opportunities for Miller and backup D'Onta Foreman. "That's the difference between being a good offense and a great offense, being able to run the ball in whenever you get down there," quarterback Deshaun Watson said. "That's (something) we want to focus on. Once we get in the red zone like we did last year, we have to find ways to get the ball in the end zone." The Texans often settled for field goals in the red zone, with placekicker Ka'imi Fairbairn leading the league in attempts (42), makes (37) and points (150).

Texans' Lamar Miller: Expected to keep lead job
                by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Bill O'Brien said Miller is still the lead back in Houston, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reports.

Asked about the competition between Miller and D'Onta Foreman, the Texans' head coach essentially shot down the idea, saying Miller is the starter and it's everything else that still needs to be determined. While Foreman doesn't have much competition for the No. 2 job, any challenge for Miller's spot may need to take place in-season rather than this summer. Regardless, the Houston backfield will require close watching throughout training camp and beyond, as Miller has been mediocre for years now.

The Texans have a running back weakness. As a playoff contender, thats something you don't want. I see an opportunity here to get a decent draft pick.

What would you consider a decent pick? They'd have to give up a pick and sign him to a contract over the $30 million the Chargers reportedly offered. That is a steep price.

Foreman has never been the RB1 over a healthy Miller.

Didn't Don'te have a blown Achilles midway through 2017, his rookie season? If so not much time without injury to earn snaps.

Yeah, but a playoff contender should be willing to pay more for a piece that puts them over the top. Thats why Im willing to pay more for Trent Williams. Long term it makes no sense. But it does make sense if the future is now.

A 2nd from Hou for Gordon, flip it to Wash for Williams.
