We have a bite at the apple here.
It is not time for anyone, fans, MG's agents, or FO to make a statement about tough, hard nosed contract negotiating.
All sides must compromise.
Get real.

Keenan Allen is not going to win many foot races but is a top WR in the league

Freeman was hurt alot last season after two years of more of a feature RB. In 2017 his ypc fell a lot too from 4.8 to 4.0.
Can Ekeker do it for a year? Maybe but he excels in the role he has now.
Just trade Gordon for Chris Carson and swap picks, or give a lower round pick or something. They can swing something but trades don't seem to be TT's forte.

If this were to work, and it may have to,
it would be with Justin Jackson as the feature back and Ekeler as the COP.
FWIW Sgt Pepper, I was all over the predraft Ekeler intel, right after his epic private workout.
And I studied thoroughly Justin Jackson, going back to his junior season.
The point being that I have liked these dudes for a long time.
JJ dosen't get beat up when he runs, and Ekeler does.
This is based on running style.
Also, I want to take full advantage of Ekeler's truly elite speed and explosion.
Big plays from RBs can help our Oline tremendously.
Opposing pass rushers must respect and not tee off.
I know you see it different Sir, and respect your takes. We do not play modern football.

We were very, very fortunate to win this one.
It decided who got in the tournament.
We really needed MG.
Austin got stuffed.
The winning point is that
Ekeler is such a perfect COP w/Melvin.
Here's our SB shot...right now.
TT, don't Weddle Gordon.
Talk to Fletcher.
Melvin, tell Fletcher to get this done, and soon.
And I would expect Gordon to completely go off
with any semblance of decent Oline play in'19.

The fact that Gordon pulls this crap after the draft and FA period makes me less included to want to extend him, not more. Let him sit.
Compromise.
And I definitely want to build a killer defense.
Be cap smart, yes.
One thing though, richpjr.
I think Melvin was hoping like hell for an extension before now.
The timing is both chickenshit AND unavoidable IMV.We do not play modern football.

We play them late, so hopefully the evidence against Tyreek will be unsealed.Last edited by Topcat; 07-21-2019, 03:29 PM.
