After all, they have Super Bowl winning Head Coach Sean McVie and purported genius Les Sneed.
The Rams are now a real mess. They have gaping weaknesses.
We have an offensive line. Rams don't.
We have Justin Herbert. They have rapidly aging Matthew Stafford.
Rams have Jalen Ramsey, fallen off a cliff, and Aaron Donald, but little else.
Chargers have some difference makers on defense...see Derwin and bookends Mack/Bosa.
Do not make the mistake of equating one challenging season, with being completely off track.
I fully expect Brandon Staley and Renaldo Hill get get this defense to middle of the pack, with a winning scoring defense.
Joe Lombardi, with the pieces he needs will get our offense to near the top in scoring offense.
The Rams have a Super Bowl.
You do realize that many football people around the NFL consider missing playoffs for 2 years and coaching around 500 with Justin Herbert as your QB a failure?
Is this staff truly maximizing Herberts full arsenal of talent and his immense potential? NO

From today’s Jason La Confora’s Washington Post article this a.m.: “They’ve wasted the three cheapest years of Herbert’s career,” said one NFL GM, who isn’t permitted to talk about other franchises. “[Staley] has to go. They can’t keep him.”
Incredible fall as Staley was billed as the next Sean McVay to clearly being seen around the league as in-over-his-head.
Moving-on from Staley won’t matter as long as Telesco is around; cleaning house should entail cleaning the entire house….

I did misspell McVay, but mentioned the Super Bowl win.
We are close ?
--We are within a whisker of having a 3 headed monster, with nightmare matchups at WR.
KA-MW-Palmer. Re sign Speedy Guyton. Several restructures. Re sign Pipkins. The only missing piece to a Sean Payton/Joe Lombardi model is RB#1B.
--Get the defense to middle of the pack in scoring. We do not play modern football.

As I recall, Schefter broke the story the Saturday morning of the Ravens/Bills game (it was the later game of the two play off games that Saturday). that Daboll was the "front runner"
I was rooting for the Ravens to allow Daboll to be the hire. Bills won and by Sunday night, the Chargers hired Staley. Peter Shrager reported the Chargers didn't want to lose out on Staley to the Texans or the Eagles
So did JohnBoy panic that it was going to be a WHOLE SEVEN more days to get Daboll and they had to have a coach in place so they jumped at STaley?
Or like you said, they didn't want a Daboll type. I have zero doubt the offense would be better under Daboll

They spent 112 million on the defence this off season.
The result under defensive specialist" Brandon Staley...the worst run defence numbers since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger....a league high 13 TDS against of 20 yards or more

What bothers me is Staley brought in Lombardi and Hill, both of which we’re mistakes and have to go.

We are only in year two of Staley and his ideas. Let them continue to develop, with healthier personnel, additions and subtractings, fine tuning our depth to fit Staley's scheme.
It is shocking to see posters calling for things that will inevitably perpetuate failure. The answers are simple but not easy.
I think most expect us to lose to the Dolphins, but I see our competitive Chargers players bouncing back. As always, it is and should be, one game at a time.
Hill beats every team in the league. So he probably gets loose for a big play or two.
The problem for Chargers is can they block well enough to protect Herbert to score enough points to win. It's likely to be some heavy pressure on Justin. Yet, they probably find themselves in a one score game late with a chance to win. They have found a way to give themselves chances. Staley is making no excuses.
Will they be good enough to get the win Sunday.
I'll be watching and rooting for themWho has it better than us?
